The ward of Rhiwbina is located in the north of the Cardiff North constituency. Although now a suburb of Cardiff, it retains a individual identity with independent retail outlets, centred around a crossroads and Beulah United Reform Church. The north of the ward encompasses the steep wooded Wenallt which climbs to 229 metres. Towards the end of the 11th century, the last native welsh Prince of Glamorgan was killed in a bloody battle in the north of the ward.
